Recipe: Healthy Buckwheat Pancakes with Chocolate Sauce (Vegan)

Recipe: Healthy Hot Chocolate (Vegan)

I’m not sure about you, but I can definitely say that during my past two and half years of university, ’ve struggled with completing the endless assigned readings each week, getting 8 hours of beauty sleep every night, trying to eat healthy without getting a milkshake from the Village Cafe, maintaining a social life and finding time to exercise. With so many things to juggle on our plates, I do admit that it can be difficult to stay healthy and feel energised by the end of semester. When I’m tired, run-down and not feeling emerged, I often crave all different types of food. Chocolate definitely my biggest enemy. However, in saying that, minus the sugar, studies have found that chocolate can be healthy. It contains cacao which is a super food high in magnesium and other minerals. It can boost energy, maintain mood levels and helps to maintain heart health. During the cold, winter night, I often crave a nice, creamy hot chocolate and when trying to eat healthy and satisfy my sugar cravings (which I have all the time), I’ve tried to substitute the ‘bad’ ingredients for wholesome ones. Check our my healthy vegan cacao hot chocolate recipe below!

Review: UNA

Review: UNA

Unsettling, is the word that comes to mind. The film drips with it: the austere silences, isolating cinematography, ambient swells cut against impatient mechanical rhythms. Director Benedict Andrews is not aiming for subtlety here – but he toes a dangerous line between artistic and overkill. Rooney Mara’s near-bipolar unpredictability – …

Review: Mesmeriser + Run Marlowe, Megan and the Vegans

The powerful torrents of Megan Donnelly’s voice spill out across the Coogee beachfront. At first, you can pick out the odd word, while the rest of the lyrics melt into a captivating siren-song that drags you helplessly across the Oval. You barely notice your ascent up Old Dave’s stairs, as …

I went to Groovin The Moo (GTM) in Canberra with high expectations. I expected cattle, lots of cattle. But to my disappointment I realised that were no cows at GTM. However, what I did see was a half-naked crowd rockin to some pretty good artists including: Snakehips, George Maple, Dillon …
