Artsweek 2017 Murals: Melissa Ya

Mural Motivation: In my digital illustrative work, I value close attention to detail, geometry and clean lines. Murals are generally worked across large scales, so I wanted to be in less control of the final outcome. There’s no emotional significance or hidden meaning behind the design; at the time I …

Recipe: Healthy Hot Chocolate (Vegan)

I’m not sure about you, but I can definitely say that during my past two and half years of university, ’ve struggled with completing the endless assigned readings each week, getting 8 hours of beauty sleep every night, trying to eat healthy without getting a milkshake from the Village Cafe, maintaining a social life and finding time to exercise. With so many things to juggle on our plates, I do admit that it can be difficult to stay healthy and feel energised by the end of semester. When I’m tired, run-down and not feeling emerged, I often crave all different types of food. Chocolate definitely my biggest enemy. However, in saying that, minus the sugar, studies have found that chocolate can be healthy. It contains cacao which is a super food high in magnesium and other minerals. It can boost energy, maintain mood levels and helps to maintain heart health. During the cold, winter night, I often crave a nice, creamy hot chocolate and when trying to eat healthy and satisfy my sugar cravings (which I have all the time), I’ve tried to substitute the ‘bad’ ingredients for wholesome ones. Check our my healthy vegan cacao hot chocolate recipe below!

I don’t know about you, but I can definitely say that during my past two years of university, I’ve struggled with completing the endless assigned readings each week, getting eight hours of beauty sleep every night, trying to eat healthy without getting milkshakes everyday, maintaining a social life and finding …
