2007 was a whopping 10 years ago! Here’s a few things we know and love that started out in 2007, making them a decade old!

The iPhone

Since coming into the market in 2007, the iPhone has changed our lives from the days of indestructible Nokias and flip phones. After selling over one billion models in 2016, the iPhone continues to revolutionise the world of technology till this day.

SoundCloud

With a huge range of podcasts, up and coming producers, and a plethora of tunes, Soundcloud was founded in Sweden 2007  by Alexander Ljung and Eric Wahlforss. Check out our very own interview podcasts on SoundCloud.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians

Before 2007, no one had really heard of the Kardashians. After the launch of their reality TV show and numerous spin-offs, whether you love or hate them, you will inevitably come across something to do with someone from the Kardashian Klan.

Whether you use Kindle to catch up on tutorial readings or to read Game of Thrones, you can’t deny Kindle’s popularity. It’s so popular it sold out within five and a half hours of it’s release way back in November 2007.

Charlie Bit My Finger

Perhaps one of the cutest and funniest viral videos ever, turns 10 this year! Those sweet little kids from the video are no longer little kids biting fingers, instead they’re probably learning all about viral videos in primary school!

Britney Spears’ very public meltdown

It’s been 10 years since Britney Spears shaved her head and went crazy in a very public spectacle. Since then, we’re left her alone and she managed to make the most epic comeback. If Britney Spears could survive 2007, you can survive anything.

FitBit

FitBits not only make you feel like an athlete walking up the Basser Steps, but also help you keep track of your fitness. Founded on May 1, 2007 by James Park and Eric Friedman,  FitBit continues to be a leader in health and fitness wearable technology.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Remember when you lined up outside bookstores for the final Harry Potter book? Remember when you put off your entire life to get through the last book of the best series of your life? Remember when you turned the last page and shed a tear (or maybe an ocean of tears)? The magical moments you had reading the last Harry Potter book was 10 years ago!

From spider pigs, to donuts and a whole lotta incredibly well referenced jokes, Matt Groening’s masterpiece of a movie is a decade old!

Our fav student organisation turns 10 this year! From 2007, Arc has been bringing students FREEBIES, discounts, parties, supporting clubs and societies, and so much more. Check out all of the incredible things happening this week to celebrate!
