How To: Get Lucky

Leprechauns, double rainbows, pots of gold, four leaf clovers – a list of things that bring good luck. Blitz always has your interests at heart, and in light of St Patrick’s Day coming up, we’ve put together a few ways to help you get lucky.

Crushes

Display of fashion and style

Rainbows are a universal sign of luck, and dressing to impress is fundamental to catching any eye. Simply combine the two, and that’s the secret to getting lucky with your crush.

Throw on your best rainbow coloured tie-dye outfit, and channel your inner peace-loving hippie vibes. In the event that tie-dye is not your dress of choice, make sure that you’re wearing at least one of each colour of the rainbow on you. Think Christmas tree lights or a walking fairybread.

This way, your crush will have a hard time missing you. Besides, getting their attention is the vital arrow to their heart. And wherever you go, whatever language they may speak, your love life is set for a colourful start.

Display of skill and talent

Nothing screams St. Patrick’s Day and skills like heel clicking does.

To spice things up and grab the attention of your crush, try clicking your heels together as you make your way up the Basser steps. Displaying your skills on the most populated steps on campus increases your chances on being turned into a meme or a GIF. Once you’ve been turned into a meme or GIF, you’ll be elevated to internet celebrity status and you’ll be irresistible.

Tests / Assignments

Four-leaf clovers are meant to bring luck into your life. Let’s not kid ourselves, you’ll obviously be doing some last minute cramming and you’ll need all the luck you can get. For some extra luck in your test don’t forget to take four-(medical)-leaves.

Taking four consecutive days of medical, or sick leave means that you’ll ultimately have more time to study, inadvertently increasing your chances of luck.

Alternatively, if you are unable to find a four-leaf clover, collect any random four leaves and offer it to your tutor as a peace-offering. Not quite a clover, but close enough.

Job Interviews

When the interviewer asks you for five reasons why you deserve the job, simply state one reason, followed with “because I’m the only one you need”.

Or when the interviewer asks how you’ll be an asset to the company, remember to state that you’ve never walked under a ladder, broken a mirror, or seen a black cat in your life. What even is a black cat? You’ll be instantly hired.

Blitz can’t guarantee any of these tips actually bring good luck, but hey – it’s worth a shot, right?
