How I Met Your Mother, is a little bit like the Friends of our generation (though many angry Friends fans would object). That’s probably largely due to the plenty feel good, warm and fuzzy, chicken soup for the soul moments the show supplies. We’ve rounded up some of the best of these uplifting moments.

Barney is the show’s token bad boy character but in this episode his passionate devotion to his best bro shows his softer side.
When Barney claims Robin for America
In season five Barney again shows his good side by telling Canada that if they don’t want Robin Scherbatsky he’s claiming her “Attention Canada! Quit letting awesome chicks, like Robin Scherbatsky, get away. Because, guess what, you don’t want her, I’m planting my flag in her”.
When Ted plays den mother and sets his friends back on the right course

When Robin defends Barney
