Typically, the VMA’s is something to get excited about. It has been the birthplace of meat dresses, and foam fingers that have changed our outlook on life. This year, however, was slightly more tame than usual, with a huge influx of ‘social media celebs’ taking to the red carpet in place of our classic stars. We have compiled a list of the best and worst of the ~interesting~ looks of the 2017 VMA’s.
Hailey Baldwin in Zuhair Murad
Hailey ruled the red-carpet in this sequinned jumpsuit as our number 1 pick for best dressed!
Milly Bobby Brown in Rodarte
The youngest celeb on the carpet brought us the chicest look at only 13 years old.
Katy Perry in Stephane Rolland
Katy’s red-carpet look was the perfect entrance to her hosting gig and we absolutely loved it!
Yara Shahidi in Zimmermann
The young actress flaunted a simple yet perfectly put-together look.
The actress bared all in a thigh-high split dress and looked stunning while doing it.
Lorde in Monique Lhuillier
Lorde made a bold step out of her comfort zone in this bright, frilly number. We can’t help but love this soft side of her!
Bebe Rexha in LaBourjoisie
This sequin number along with her slicked back hair made the singer look fierce and flawless.
Kesha in Monsoori
This is the first time we have seen Kesha back on the red-carpet scene in a while, and although we were super excited to see her, her dress missed the mark here.
Nicki Minaj in Vex Latex
Nicki’s lollipop pink latex suit was a little bit too much for us.
Paris Jackson in Dior
This awkward piece from Dior was all kinds of wrong.
Mel B in Discount Universe
We don’t know if it was the sequins, the tacky slogan or the eye on her Mel B-ackside. Whatever it was, it wasn’t working.
Julia Michaels in Dior
This dress gave us serious school formal circa 2003 vibes.
Lizzo in Seth Pratt
I mean… We don’t really know what is happening here.
Joan Smalls in a tuxedo jacket dress
This look has potential, but for some reason the proportions are all off and it gives the stunning super model a giraffe vibe.
