Sculpture by the Sea: Why It’s Worth the Trek

If you’re looking for reasons to ditch the books for a chance to enjoy the gorgeous Spring weather, this year’s Sculpture by the Sea is possibly the best choice you can make. This easy 2km Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk is filled with sculptures by the finest works from over 100 local and international artistsSo get your sea legs, put on your joggers and ready your thumb to hit that camera button on your phone.

Here are the highlights:

The artworks this year are gold.  This year’s selection is especially special as they are celebrating the 20 year mark of this event running in Bondi.

Make sure sure you head up to Marks Park, just a stone throw away from Bondi Beach along the coastal walk where you’ll find the field decorated with more sculptures.

In the words of the great Beyoncé, “Bow down b*itches”

Marks park is also a great place to catch a breather and chill with your mates. Nearby is also the famous The Grounds desert oasis-inspired pop up cafe. Succulents, cacti and insta-worthy brunch food? Oops I seem to have triggered the hipsters reading this.

What seemed like a pile of junk from one side turned out to be a magnificent structure resembling a horse from another perspective.

Look at this trove, treasures untold. How many wonders can one cavern hold? This crochet display looks right out of The Little Mermaid.

Keep your eyes peeled because there’s plenty to see every step of the way along the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk.

Enjoy this year’s Sculpture by the Sea ya’ll!
