Who doesn’t love visiting the zoo? Visiting the Taronga Zoo has always been a special treat for me. It’s Australia’s leading zoological park and is home to over 4,000 animals. The zoo has a comprehensive collection of both native and exotic species. Although it’s not my first visit, I really love spending the day walking around and rediscovering this magnificent zoo. Here are the best things to do at Taronga Zoo.
The Seal Show
The Seal Show is really an entertaining experience. You get to watch the graceful seals parading around on stage, catching fish, performing tricks and diving underwater. This show proudly shows off the amazing abilities of their Californian Sea-Lion, Australian Sea-Lion and New Zealand Fur-Seal.
Feed the giraffes personally at the Giraffe Boardwalk. The Giraffes Encounter is another exhilarating experience that you should do. Plus you get to capture this picture-perfect moment with your camera. Take note it costs $7 per person, which goes towards the animals’ care and conservation.
Enjoy your time learning more about the Asian Elephants during the Elephant Talk. Taronga Zoo currently has a conservation breeding program. The zoo is part of an international effort catered towards elephant management, for the Australasian region.
Taronga Zoo is located at Bradleys Head, Mosman. I would recommend taking the ferry or the bus if you don’t drive. It takes around 12 minutes from Circular Quay by ferry or 40 minutes by bus from Wynyard Station. There are lots of online deals which includes the return ferry. Alternatively, you can just buy the zoo tickets online.
